Tonatico and Grutas de la Estrella, México

Writer's picture: Maestro ProfesorMaestro Profesor

Tonatico is a small town of around 10,000 in population near the city of Ixtapan de Sal in the State of Mexico. It has the designation of being a "magical town" in Mexico and has sites both natural and cultural. Apart from its historic centre, it also has a small ruin of a colonial church in the outskirts, near a small waterfall which has a small park with pools around it.

It's also close to the caves Grutas de la Estrella although it's only accessible by private transportation or taxi.
