Tolantongo, Hidalgo, Mexico

Writer's picture: Maestro ProfesorMaestro Profesor

Tolantongo is a small town with a park/hotel resort that has a cave, some pools, a thermal river, and some other natural areas. The whole place costs MXN$150 to enter and there are multiple hotels with different restaurants. There's no phone reception but I think some hotels have Wi-Fi, or maybe only the nearby ones.

Overall, it's a good place to be, but difficult to navigate the whole place on foot.

There's a bus between the Grutas and Ixmilquipan which takes around 1.5 hours (MXN$50). The city is around 3 hours away from Mexico City's northern bus terminal (MXN$194).
