Monterrey is the state capital of Nuevo León in México. It's the powerhouse in the north and an industrial city. It does have some historical buildings here and there, although the special things about the city itself are probably the abandoned factories (now museums), as well as the mountains surrounding it. The visibility was not great though whilst I was there, but the river ride was quite nice.

It also has Mexico's largest public square.
