Ixtapan de la Sal is a city in the State of Mexico, around 2 hours away from the western Mexico City bus terminal. It's known for its thermal spring but it's also got a very nice waterpark.
The name suggests that when it was sending tributes to the Aztec Empire, they were focused on sending salt. It's also close to the magical town of Tonatico.
