Hermosillo, Sonora, México

Writer's picture: Maestro ProfesorMaestro Profesor

Hermosillo is the state capital of Sonora, a Mexican border state to the United States after the US invasion of México. It's named after a revolutionary hero and was initially built as a stronghold against the Native American nations in the area. It's also a gateway city to the UNESCO heritage site Sonora Desert in Mexico and the US.

Being from the 1700s, the city does not have as many historical buildings as many others, but still quite nice. It was picked as the most livable city in Mexico at one point. There's also a mountain around 25 minutes on foot from the city centre to see the city.
