Ciudad Madero, Tamaulipas, México

Ciudad Madero is a small city within the Tampico metropolitan area, on the east coast of Tamaulipas, México, facing the Gulf of Mexico.

It's most known for its beach, Playa Miramar, which is long, and is the only certified clean beach in Mexico. It's also the first inclusive beach in Mexico. Naturally, there are hotels, restaurants, and shops along the beach. The beach itself isn't particularly nice or anything, and there's not much shade in the area in general. It's easy to get there - from Tampico's city centre, one can take a collective taxi for MXN$9 to get all the way to the beach (the beach is not close to Madero's city centre).

There's also a military base, or perhaps just a military residence by the beach.

Near the beach you can also find an oil refinery and accommodation for Pemex staff.

The city centre has a main square with a church, a presidential building with a cannon, and also a pavillion. There's a collective taxi to Madero centre as well.
