Acolman is a small town in the State of México northeast of Mexico City. It's reachable by combi from Texcoco (MXN$13). It's known as the birthplace of the piñata, which was created for the pre-Christmas posadas (and now also used during birthday parties). It's a very small, walkable town, with the tourist attractions from the ex-convent to the clock tower.
