Mazatlán, Sinaloa, México

Mazatlán is a major tourist attraction and port in the state of Sinaloa in México, and was its capital for a time until the federal court legislated against having ports as state capitals. It has some colonial buildings and the area from the city centre up down to the lighthouse's island (connected by land now) are full of rows of colourful little houses.

It is also a significant city in Mexican music. Music and movie legend Pedro Infante was born there, with an iconic statue on the shore. It's also the birthplace of the classic Banda music.

Its aquarium is likewise an attraction with also a long Malecon. Bikes there are only MXN$10 an hour, with the mobile app vbike.
